The integrity of your walls is of the UTMOST importance to me. This blog post will outline what you should expect when it comes to balloon installation and removal on flat walls if there are no attachment points.

Installation

Sometimes when installing a balloon garland I will use 3M Command Hooks. You can follow this link if you want to know the exact hooks that I use. This method is really only if there are no attachment points on the wall you would like your balloons on. You may choose to rent a frame or backdrop from Sunny Day to avoid this altogether. You may take a look at our rentals here.

These hooks can be used on many different kinds of wall. HOWEVER, if you have painted your walls within a 6 week timeframe before your event these hooks SHOULD NOT be used on any wall that has been painted as it will lift the paint! Command hooks should also not be installed on wallpaper or textured walls. So if any of these are present where you are considering having your balloon garland, another installation place should be chosen.

Removal 

I can come to take down the balloons and command hooks/strips at an added cost. However, this is not required. You are more than welcome to take down the balloons and command hooks/strips yourself! If you choose to remove the command hooks yourself, your first step is to take down the balloons. After removing the balloons, you will grab the bottom of the command strip that is connecting the hook to the wall and pull SLOWLY in a downward motion. DO NOT pull towards yourself. You MUST pull the strip down parallel to the wall as shown in the illustration below. You also must pull down slowly and carefully, if you go too quickly you could risk ripping the strip and having no point to pull from.
