Here’s a fun little party-planning fact you might not know: candles and balloons do not mix — and not for the reason most people expect! It’s not just about heat or open flames. The real issue for your balloon décor is something much sneakier… and it can affect even the most beautiful balloon installations in homes and venues.
When a candle is burning, it naturally produces microscopic ash and soot particles. These particles drift through the air and settle onto nearby surfaces. And your balloons? They’re basically magnets for that soot.
Once it settles, your balloons can develop:
